General Shopping Brasil Hires Market Maker on the Sao Paulo

　　SAO PAULO, Brazil, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pursuant to Instruction #358 of the CVM (Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil) dated January 3, 2002, General Shopping Brasil S.A. hereby informs the market that, in accordance with CVM Instruction #384 dated March 17, 2003, it has hired Agora Senior Corretora de Titulos e Valores Mobiliarios S.A., headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, at Praia de Botafogo no. 300, rooms 601 and 301, registered in the Corporate Taxpayers Roll (CNPJ/MF) under number 74.014.747/0001-35, to act as market maker to facilitate the liquidity of its common shares ("GSHP3"), listed in the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA), for a period of 12 months, automatically renewable for equal periods if neither party has expressed its intent otherwise.

The Company informs that its current free float is represented by 20,480,600 common shares.

Such initiative reinforces General Shopping Brasil''s commitment to its investors and to the best trading practices in the market. Agora Senior will effectively start acting as General Shopping Brasil''s shares market maker on October 17, 2007.
